The Anatomy of
Ambiguity reprezintă un
proiect expozițional de tip duo show ce descrie, prin demersurile
artistice prezentate, un ambient atent construit, marcat de intimitate, a cărui
fir roșu trasează o configurație de stări unde ambiguitatea devine un
instrument expresiv.
Proiectul încorporează
vizual decupaje de realități
probabile – ce cuprind fragmente figurative aparținând imaginarului specific celor
doi artiști. The Anatomy of
Ambiguity reprezintă a treia parte dintr-o trilogie,
primele două expoziții din
această serie intitulându-se
Anatomy of a Knock-out (2021) și Anatomy of a Tragedy (2022). Elementele
figurative prezente în lucrări: de tip organic, vegetal sau anatomic devin simbolice
pentru sugerarea ciclicității
vieții, prezentând mici fragmente prețioase de efemer. Procesul repetitiv ce simbolizează nașterea,
dezvoltarea, maturitatea și moartea, ilustrează circuitul natural existențial. Corporalitatea
structurilor vegetale sau a trupului uman propriu-zis – este explorată în compoziții experimentale realizate în diverse tehnici: ulei
pe pânză,
tempera pe placaj de lemn, cărbune pe pânză, desen pe placaj de lemn.
În viziunea Adei Muntean, corpurile umane descriu o
realitate cunoscută fără a o delimita cu certitudine, materializând o confesiune a unei istorii personale. Astfel, compozițiile ei
urmăresc
o dematerializare a trupului. În lucrările lui Mathias Bar, substanța picturală configurează detalii corporale ce
evocă tragicul într-o manieră subtilă și
subversivă. În cadrul expoziției The Anatomy of Ambiguity,
există trimiteri vizuale către elemente vegetale, însă aspectul formal al
proiectului nu gravitează înspre o perspectivă ecologistă, ci mai degrabă către
o interpretare subiectivă și particulară a unor etape existențiale foarte
personale. Compozițiile devin niște puncte de pornire în imaginarea unor direcții
plastice individuale, dar care converg într-un ambient menit să închege o
atmosferă ce invită la cunoaștere, interpretare și chestionare a unor realități
ce devin progresiv tot mai bizare.
The Anatomy of
Ambiguity devine astfel o
sinteză a transformărilor prin care demersurile celor doi artiști au trecut
de-a lungul ultimilor ani, marcând un proces ciclic de dizolvare și închegare a unor maniere de lucru. Expoziția
se conturează ca un experiment ce reunește mai multe medii vizuale, explorând corporalitatea
prin filtrul a două universuri plastice distincte.

The Anatomy of
Ambiguity is a duo show
type of exhibition that describes through its artistic approaches, a carefully
constructed ambient, marked by intimacy, and following a red thread which leads
to a configuration of states where ambiguity becomes an expressive instrument.
The projects visually
incorporate cut outs of probable realities – comprising of figurative fragments
that belong to the imaginary of two artists. The Anatomy of Ambiguity
represents the third part of a trilogy, following the first two exhibitions of
the series: Anatomy of a Knock-out (2021) and Anatomy of a Tragedy
(2022).
The figurative elements that appear in
the art pieces: organic, vegetal, or anatomical symbolically suggest the
cyclicity of life by presenting small, precious fragments of the ephemeral. The
repetitive process symbolizing birth, growth, maturity, and death illustrate
the natural existential circuit. The corporality of the vegetal structures or
of the human body per se is explored through experimental compositions made
through various techniques: oil on canvas, watercolour on wood panel, charcoal
on canvas, drawing on wood panel.
In Ada Muntean’s vision, the human body
describes a reality which is known, but not strictly outlined, materializing
the confession of a personal history. Thus, her compositions aim to
dematerialize the body. In Mathias Bar’s work, the pictural substance
configures corporal details evoking the tragic in a subtle and subversive manner.
Within The Anatomy of
Ambiguity exhibition there are visual cues for vegetal matter, but the
formal aspect of the project does not gravitate towards an ecological
perspective, yet rather towards a subjective and personal interpretation of
very personal existential stages. The compositions become starting points in
imagining individual artistic directions that converge into an ambient meant to
create an atmosphere that stimulates knowledge, interpretation, and the
questioning of a progressively more bizarre reality.
The Anatomy of
Ambiguity thus becomes a
synthesis of the transformations through which the two artists’ approaches have
gone in the past years, marking a cyclical process of dissolving, and reconfiguring
work styles. The exhibition presents itself as an experiment reuniting various
visual media to explore corporality through the filter of two distinct plastic
universes.
